Long before Dr. Andrew Jacono became one of the most recognized facial plastic surgeons in the United States, he was a schoolboy watching a classmate endure cruelty because of a cleft lip and palate. When that girl returned after reconstructive surgery, her peers treated her differently as a person rather than a condition. That moment, Jacono has said, defined everything that followed.

A Career Grounded in Innovation

After earning his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1996, Dr. Andrew Jacono completed a rigorous residency in Otolaryngology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, where he rose to administrative chief resident. He then pursued an advanced fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Andrew Jacono clinical reputation rests largely on the Minimal Access Deep-Plane Extended (MADE) facelift, which he developed in the early 2000s. Unlike older approaches that pulled skin taut, the technique lifts skin, muscle, and fat together as one unit, producing results that appear natural and can last 12 to 15 years. Town & Country observed that his patients tend to look like refreshed versions of themselves rather than visibly altered.

The procedure earned wide trust. Fashion designer Marc Jacobs publicly credited with performing his facelift in 2021, praising the natural outcome. Fellow plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Nassif also chose Jacono for his own deep plane facelift a notable vote of confidence from within the profession.

Giving Back Through Surgical Service

Dr. Andrew Jacono has performed more than 750 surgeries on children with cleft lips, palates, and facial deformities through Healing the Children. He has also provided reconstructive surgery to more than 100 domestic violence survivors through the FACE TO FACE program, work documented on the Oprah Winfrey Network’s series Facing Trauma.

Newsweek ranked him third among facelift surgeons nationally for 2025. Harper’s Bazaar named him among the 24 best plastic surgeons in the country. He has received the Most Compassionate Doctor Award every year from 2012 through 2022 an honor given to fewer than 3% of physicians. Visit this page for more information.
