When COVID-19 began spreading in early 2020, Justin Fulcher was in Charleston. RingMD, the telehealth platform he had co-founded in Singapore nearly a decade earlier, had just completed its US relaunch with a new institutional focus. The pandemic removed any remaining question about whether digital healthcare was ready for the mainstream. Fulcher’s response was direct: the company offered a white-labeled version of its platform at no cost to doctors, hospitals, and healthcare organizations worldwide. His framing was equally plain telehealth had moved from optional to necessary.

What the Platform Actually Did

RingMD was not a stripped-down video call service. Justin Fulcher built it as a comprehensive telehealth system: triage, patient communication, data integration, and provider tools alongside the core consultation functionality. On the patient side, the experience was designed for accessibility symptoms, preferred call type, payment, and a provider list filtered by location, price, ratings, insurance, and availability. Providers had detailed public profiles and dynamic pricing. The platform had also partnered with PROVision Partners International to bring telehealth to hotel and cruise travelers globally, at costs beginning at two dollars per traveler per night.

A Platform That Outlasted Its Founder

Fulcher’s seven-year journey through Southeast Asia, and the observations he gathered across the region most memorably a man in Jakarta holding a smartphone while drinking contaminated water had led to a platform that, by the time he stepped down in January 2025, served more than fifty countries. It held 1.5 million patient records and sustained an active network of 10,000 healthcare providers. Justin Fulcher had also been recognized by Forbes on its 30 Under 30 Asia list in 2017. The platform’s federal compliance certifications positioned it for the US Indian Health Service, reaching approximately 2.6 million people across 37 states.
